Get two new experiences at our second concert! The debut of pianist Viktor Valkov and the first ever SSO performance of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Just as beautiful and exciting as No. 1, this concerto features a beautiful trio for violin, cello and piano in its slow movement. Brahms’ Symphony No. 4, his last valedictorian work in this genre, is the perfect example of an inspired genius at the height of his powers. We continue our series of highlighting American Women composers with one of the youngest bright lights Missy Mazzoli with her evocative and colorful “Orbiting Spheres.”
